CT 8 I was really skeptical when I learned one of the leads, Kim Bodnia [Martin], was being replaced by Thure Lindhardt [Henrik]. But while the relationship between Saga and Henrik is definitely different, the chemisty between the two is every bit as good as that with Saga and Martin. I have no idea how the writers and directors pulled this off but they managed to infuse some life into a series that didn't need an infusion. Remarkable. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is more a review about all 3 seasons. I chose to watch the Nordic version as I find myself getting more interested in international fare, particularly suspense and mystery. Because the bridge refers to the Oresund Bridge linking Sweden and Denmark, the location even makes it a bit more chilling. Sofia Helin is the star and my favorite character. She's a blend of imperfect beauty, psychological flaws, brilliance and depth which result in her possessing limited social skills which can be viewed both as brutally honest to a fault which causes an element of humor. Her character skillset is central to how she goes about solving gruesome crimes. Each 10 episode season has its own central theme and watching all three seasons in order provides for better continuity and becoming more intimate with all the characters. The themes are creative and dark and remind me somewhat of Criminal Minds. Sofia provides the emotional impact that might cause anyone to reflect on their own flaws. I really enjoyed all of the series, but they sometimes dragged on a bit. The other criticism is that there are subtitles for this version which makes following what is going on a little more awkward. However, you get a feel for the culture, language, geography, and physical layout of Sweden, in particular. 2018 will mark the 4th Series installment. I can hardly wait.
